Please mak sure that the spa is quiet. I have been to cities that have horns from traffic blowing every minute. They are suttle but you can still hear it in some float tubs. With a good insulated tub and good music you cant really have a bad float session. Some spas get the float spa and need to get upgraded sound proofing but in actuallity they never get it. They say it is quiet and peaceful when really its just not and I know it.

It is the low pitch noise that is usually heard. I can hear even the vibration of trains going by sometimes. A good white noise machine that is similar to the one that is outside my therapists office in the lobby. It seems to dissipate the noise and relax me. But its more of the vibration from the sound that most people get annoyed with, not the actual noise. You can feel a bus or people working on the road during the float. Ask about sound dampening mats. Some are very thick and aborb much of the unwanted vibration.

There are many types of speakers used in float spas. The good ones are underwater speaker and they cost way more, usually found in the super expensive models, import models that almost aways take 2 to 3 months to build and get delivered which is cool fi you have time to wait.

Cheaper speakers are fitted on the tub outside the water and vibrate the tub and are not touching the water at all. The sound penetrates the frame of the tub. It is very expensive to get speakers that sound clear underwater. It is harder to relax when the sound of the music is coming in muffled.

Vibrational speakers are the best for clear music and to really feel the music. Its very popular now. They don't have speakers but use even a box of tissue paper to be the medium for the sound. You can put it on the float spa and you can hear the sound vibration under water too.
